The Basics Of Taking Care Of Your Hair

Ever wonder why your hair is not the same as it was before?

Always on the lookout for recommendations? Constantly switching products and not giving your hair enough time to adjust? Well, commercials tend to go overboard sometimes and we can’t blame you. Who wouldn’t want shiny and bouncy hair, right?

Maintaining good hair not only lifts your attitude but also restores a part of your mental health. It’s our crowning glory after all.

But to set the record straight, hair care is not only about keeping your hair clean.

Here are some simple changes you can make to take care of your hair better:

Moisturize Your Hair

Water is an essential ingredient in any hair care routine. It helps to keep the hair moisturized, which is one key to healthy hair growth.

  • Water also helps to make the mask more effective by allowing it to penetrate deeper into your strands and reach damaged areas of your scalp more easily.

  • Hair masks or hair moisturizers are great for treating dryness and damage from heat styling tools like blow dryers and flat irons. They can also help with oily roots that are caused by over-conditioning your ends with products that contain silicone or oils like coconut oil.

Did you know that our “All Time Best-Seller” is our unique ALL-IN-ONE LEAVE-ON HAIR MASK? It’s a Spray mask without rinsing! Cool right? Not only do we offer hair moisturizer for natural hair but for beautiful curly hairs too!

Keep It Clean, Not Too Clean

When it comes to washing and conditioning your hair, it's best to keep things simple. The more you shampoo and condition your hair, the drier and more damaged it will become.

  • As with anything else, there are exceptions; if your hair is extremely oily or if you have scalp issues like dandruff or psoriasis, then daily washing may be necessary for better health. If not, then I recommend maintaining a regular routine that works best for you but also doesn't overdo it on the shampoos or conditioners (you can use one without the other).

  • To find out how often you should wash your tresses, pay attention! Is there buildup? Do they smell funky? Are they really greasy around my ears? These are all signs that indicate when a good scrub down is in order—but remember: Only do this when necessary!

Don’t Brush Your Hair When It’s Wet

Wet hair can be more prone to frizz, breakage, and split ends. If you need to brush your hair, wait until it’s completely dry. Too hard bristles can cause damage to the hair cuticle. The result? When dry, these broken bits may look like they’re floating around on top of your head instead of being tucked in as usual!

Wash Your Brushes and Combs

Another thing is keeping your combs and brushes clean at least once a week. Dirt, oils, and bacteria can build up inside the bristles of your hair tools, which can then transfer to your scalp.

Here’s how you can clean them:

  • Fill a bowl with warm water mixed with a small amount of shampoo. Soak the brushes in this solution for about 10-15 minutes. Remove excess water and dry overnight.

  • When drying is complete, store the brushes in an upright position away from direct sunlight so they don’t get warped or dried prematurely.

Stay Away From High Heat Hair Tools

If you've tried all the above and still find yourself with some kind of heat damage, there are a few more options. You can try a heat protectant spray or serum to help mitigate the damage caused by using hot tools.

  • The main thing to remember is that if your hair is damaged, it will not grow past the damaged part. That being said, while it's okay to use some form of heat styling tool every so often, try to avoid them as much as possible—this includes blow dryers and flat irons (which can also be damaging). Save the heat-style for important events!

Correct+ developed an Argan Oil Serum that has triple action formula which penetrates deeply into the hair.

In conclusion, hair care is not about finding out what works for you and your unique tresses. No one’s hair is the same, and everyone has their own routine that they’ve created over time.
